Meet Our Principal, Ms. Yarbrough

Ms. Yarbrough was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. It was her educational experiences as a child at P.S 21 that shaped and molded her. It was Dr. Renee Young’s exemplary leadership and Mr. Ariel Lajara’s mentorship that inspired Ms. Yarbrough to pursue the field of educational leadership. Ms. Yarbrough has over 10 years of experience in the field of education in Philadelphia and neighboring school districts.  Accompanied by the fact that she has 1 amazing daughter and is a member of the National Sorority of Phi Delta Kappa, Ms. Yarbrough brings a clear understanding of how to properly bridge the achievement gap by supporting scholars, families, community members and educators and she has a proven commitment to the education and empowerment of all scholars.

Ms. Yarbrough attended the prestigious Lincoln University where she received her Bachelor’s degree in History with a minor in African American Studies. She also attended Lincoln University for her graduate studies where she received M.Ed in Early Childhood Education and M.Ed in Educational Leadership degrees. Education is extremely important to Principal Yarbrough. Her dedication to the field, to service and her scholars goes without question. She believes that every child, no matter their socio-economic status, deserves equitable educational experiences, safe spaces to learn and thrive, and access to high quality, tier 1 instruction.
